Covenant College is seeking a gifted senior leader with demonstrated outcomes in higher education admissions and/or marketing to provide exceptional leadership to the areas of Admissions, Financial Aid, and Marketing & Communications. We strive to recruit someone who can set long-term direction and develop strategy for these areas, and who is willing to work creatively in the realms of admissions and marketing to support a traditional educational model. Using data-driven ideas that are supported by the work of our Institutional Research office, the right candidate will be able to establish greater traction in our target market. We believe it is critical to exercise creativity in the ways we connect with prospects and communicate our beliefs in order to meet students, parents, and school and church staff where they are today, while not wavering from our core beliefs.
Higher education admissions have become an increasingly competitive marketplace. For those institutions that remain focused on the residential undergraduate experience and its attendant educational benefits, shifts in the marketplace have only highlighted the importance of a strong admissions office. Historically, Covenant College has operated with a Vice President for Advancement, who oversaw Admissions, Financial Aid, Marketing & Communications, Development, Alumni Engagement, and Church Relations. Given the vital nature of enrollment for Covenant College and the key role Admissions plays in maintaining a healthy enrollment, we have decided to split the Advancement function in two, with Development, Alumni Engagement, and Church Relations reporting to a Vice President for Development, and Admissions, Financial Aid, and Marketing & Communications reporting to a Vice President for Admissions & Marketing.
Responsibilities of this role will include:
Provide leadership and oversight to the following operational functions: Admissions; Financial Aid; Marketing and Communications

About Covenant College
Covenant College is a four-year, residential college offering degree programs in the sciences, arts, humanities, and in pre-professional disciplines. Covenant is one of only five members of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities that are ranked in the top tier of national liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report, and the only one of those located in the South (one of the more demographically vibrant regions of the country). The College boasts outstanding outcomes, both academically (94% of graduates who attend graduate school are enrolled in their first- or second-choice graduate program; recent placements include Columbia Law, NYU Law, Georgetown Law, Johns Hopkins School of International Studies, the University of Virginia’s School of Public Policy, Duke Medical School, Washington University Medical School, Cal-Berkeley’s PhD program in Economics) and spiritually (96% of graduates report that they remain committed to the Christian faith, and 95% report that they are members or regular attenders of a local church). Covenant is the college of the Presbyterian Church in America, standing squarely in the midst of a tradition that values deeply the redeeming work... of Jesus Christ in the lives of his people and the theological commitments of the Reformed tradition. The College is located on a stunningly beautiful, mountaintop campus and is adjacent to the vibrant city of Chattanooga, which was rated by Outside Magazine in 2016 as the Best Town Ever for those who love the outdoors and was described by President Barack Obama as a “tornado of innovation” for its dynamic startup scene.
