Posting Number: F00145P Job Summary: The College of Business and Technology (CBAT) currently engages with multiple external constituents via several different venues. The college's strategic plan requires a focused strategy to insure key goals and metrics are achieved. The CBAT also recognizes that improved relationships with the local community and businesses is required as the university and college continue to grow. A primary objective for this position will be to identify and coordinate the college's current and future external activities. Specific responsibilities include development and execution of an overall strategic plan, and achieving goals and metrics aligned with the overall vision and mission of the College and University. As existing and future relationships are developed and cultivated external to the college, these relationships will ultimately be mutually beneficial for students, faculty & administration, and the local community. Examples include identification and execution of master's level strategic experience capstone projects, improved opportunities for student internships and full-time positions, and identification of areas for faculty involvement and consulting (such as cybersecurity, sustainability, business strategy, entrepreneurship, etc.). The Professor of Practice will endeavor to develop a stronger partnership with the Tennessee Small Business Development Center (TSBDC) and the ETSU Innovation Lab (I-Lab). Developing stronger linkages with the TSBDC and the I-Lab will enhance the academic experiences for students in our undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as our vision for expansion of entrepreneurship experiences for students and faculty. The successful candidate will also play an important role in advancing the new Economic Development initiative and serving on the Economic Development Council (ECD). The Professor of Practice will have teaching responsibilities (1-2 classes per academic term), primarily in undergraduate and master's level strategic management courses.
