The Media Strategist will work closely with the Advertising and PR Manager to ensure the successful development and execution of all media campaigns for all Summit Racing Equipment brands. This involves understanding the objectives, researching the target audiences, and establishing the timing and an appropriate budget in order to maximize the revenue impact of all schedules. The Media Strategist will work with all team members in the achievement of departmental goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Execute appropriate audience analysis for campaigns – cost per point, cost per thousand, circulation, readership, gross impressions, target rating point delivery
Develop the appropriate media mix – magazine, radio, network television, cable, outdoor, newspaper, direct response
Negotiate pricing, positioning, rates and inventory for all media contracts
Follow up with all media representatives for all post campaign analysis and delivery, scheduling and approving under delivery and/or make good ad placement when necessary
Manage, develop and prospect relationships with publishers and producers in the automotive aftermarket industry
Issue all media plans and report buys in a timely manner
Maintain quarterly/monthly/annual budgets to achieve company goals
Maintain media contract files
Issue and traffic all media schedules and commercials
Approve all invoices as sent by accounting in a timely manner, resolving any discrepancies
Run and issue results of appropriate reports including:
Retail zip code analysis
Geographical analysis by retail zip codes, state, and DMA
Track quarterly dollar value of PR placement for all Summit Racing brands
Keep clients informed, act as liaison.
Proficiency in media analysis, planning and buying
Demonstrated statistical analysis abilities
Awareness and understanding of latest media trends
Strong time management skills
Good client service and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently to meet team production and ROI goals
Persistent, confident, professional, flexible and service-oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Two or more years ad agency or in-house agency experience
College degree in communication, advertising, marketing or journalism
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Creative writer and thinker
Comfortable presenting truth to power
