The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Marketing team is looking for a Marketing Director who shares our passion for digital media. The IAB empowers the media and marketing industries to thrive in the digital economy. We field critical research on interactive advertising, while also educating brands, agencies, and the wider business community on the importance of digital marketing.
The Marketing Director will be responsible for all marketing direction and communications for several key initiatives across the organization including IAB Learning and Certification and IAB Data Center of Excellence. The person in this role will work with internal stakeholders, business experts, influencers, and IAB Committees & Councils to create and execute relevant and impactful strategies and campaigns using all communication and marketing channels including, but not limited to automated email, PR coordination, blog posts, influencers, paid and organic social media strategy, and other marketing and media campaigns to create buzz and reach the marketing goals / KPIs for each initiative.
The Marketing Director reports in to the Vice President, Marketing and is both a leader and individual contributor. The ideal candidate will be well versed in CRM/lead development, key messaging development, marketing strategy, digital advertising, email marketing/Marketo, web analytics, and be proficient in writing.

IAB Learning and Certification
Create the brand from the ground up for IAB including look/feel and voice across creative, email, content and social
Craft email and social campaigns to drive product enrollment
Develop holistic marketing campaigns to engage new customers and create demand
Build a peer network of IAB certified professionals
Data Center of Excellence
Create and develop marketing plans of standards/guidelines, and the release of white papers or best practices
Manage marketing budgets and produce campaign performance reports, providing key insights and optimization recommendations that prove ROI with data.
Test new potential channels and strategies to support the marketing plan and event growth
Interface directly with IAB members and other industry leaders to gain market intelligence that will inform marketing and communications strategies and tactics
Grow a direct report (and the marketing team) into a strategic resource and tactical function, acting as an advance warning system for leadership on big issues and challenges
Raise the profile of the IAB brand, communicating IAB activities effectively to IAB member companies’ staff and leadership, marketing the objectives and output of IAB councils and committees
Developing strategic marketing partnerships with other trade organizations, media publications, and IAB member companies
Developing and tracking metrics and success criteria for all marketing programs and activities
Perform other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate possesses the following attributes:
BA or BS degree; MBA a plus
10+ years of experience in marketing and communications
Marketo Email Marketing/lead gen experience
Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels
Experience engaging with teams cross-functionally
Deep understanding of the digital media landscape, knowledge of the advertising technology and publishing sectors, and a passion for advertising, marketing, and media
Excellent presentation skills and enjoy working with members and partners
Demonstrated experience at project management, managing multiple projects simultaneously and managing often outsourced marketing activities
Excellent written communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically PowerPoint and Word
Must be a self-starter, proactive, able to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment, have the ability to drive projects to completion while managing multiple constituents and be prepared to roll up their sleeves.
