As part of the Development Marketing and Communications team within the Graduate School of Business Development department, this position reports to the Director of Development Marketing and Communications. The team is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compelling recognition, stewardship, and communications for donors; and the coordination of related operational processes with the university Office of Development, GSB Finance, and other departments within the school.
The Associate Director directs and manages the strategy development of stewardship and communications plans and programs for selected donor populations in the GSB. Responsible for leading the success of the department's overall stewardship goals.
Your primary responsibilities include:
Responsible for overall operations management of the stewardship function including appropriate use of gift funds, reporting, acknowledgements, production of collateral, project management, donor recognition, and publication production.
Responsible for strategy design and implementation of a creative, consistent, and donor-centric donor reporting and recognition programs.
Lead effective use of sophisticated informational systems (e.g., proprietary donor database, financial reporting systems, Excel) as powerful tools for data analysis and management of gift funds in coordination with the university Office of Development and GSB Finance departments, university development operations, and legal departments to ensure accurate and timely use of funds and financial and narrative reporting to donors.
In partnership with senior leaders, develop and implement donor communications, reporting, and recognition programs for lead donors. These may include gift proposals and marketing materials; donor recognition lists and signage; gift documentation; gift impact stories; correspondence from the dean; customized deliverables; and video, print, and digital projects that demonstrate the impact of giving.
Maintain relationships with gift officers and donors.
Design and project manage donor recognition events.
Lead production of white papers and additional collateral.
Maintain open channels of communications with colleagues across the university.
Assist in setting priorities for Development Marketing & Communications team and manage their overall effectiveness. Develop tracking methods for reporting of the team's overall productivity and manage workflow for projects to motivate prospective donors to support the GSB and steward existing donors.
Responsible for the allocation of resources for stewardship function.
May be involved in hiring, training, setting individual performance goals and completing annual

To be successful in this position, you will bring:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and seven years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.Ability to understand and articulate how stewardship supports and advances the broader fundraising agenda.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Strong client service orientation and attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills, and professionalism to interact with a wide range of people at different levels of an organization.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to edit high-level correspondence and ability to synthesize ideas and information into clear, accurate, persuasive prose with attention to creative design and brand.
Demonstrated experience leading project teams, including working closely with internal clients, departmental partners, designers, and vendors; and managing complex deadline-driven projects.
Proven ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple priorities, with competing deadlines.
Must be able to find and interpret relevant information.
Demonstrated sound judgment in situations requiring independent decision-making and in handling confidential and sensitive material.
Proficient in MS Office Suite and database applications.
Familiarity with PostGrads, InDesign, Oracle Financials, and Drupal preferable.
