The Director of Public Relations and Marketing is a key member of the executive team and is responsible for developing and implementing Student Health Services (SHS) public relation strategies and comprehensive marketing tactics to support our mission. Under limited supervision, and in coordination with University and Student Affairs public relations staff, manages media relations, print and social media, announcements, written correspondence and speaking engagements. Develops press releases, white papers and supporting materials. Designs and evaluates health communication tactics that promote a healthy and robust campus culture. Increase the likelihood of student success by using communications strategies to help students connect with resources, services and programs that enhance their health and well-being and that supports Student Health Services strategic plan. Responsible for the publication of SHS brochures, magazines, community/campus reports and social media. Assists with market research, report writing, proposals, and development of presentations. Individual will assist in providing crisis management to include marketing and communication venues on unique and serious public issues that may escalate outside of the department including campus emergencies and/or public health contingencies. Individual will respond to requests for information from the media, university public relations office and designate an appropriate spokesperson or information source. Oversees web-site updates and content. Updates and monitors marketing policies and procedures consistent with University guidelines. Uses metrics to assess and improve overall performance. Prepares yearly budget for areas of supervision. Works closely with on and off campus marketing and public relations professionals. Individual will direct the work of full-time staff, graduate students and/or part-time employees to efficiently meet goals. Position is considered essential personnel.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Master's degree and 3 years professional experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material, or Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience.
