The Marketing Area of the School of Business at George Mason University has a Term Faculty appointment (non-tenure track) open for a qualified individual to teach marketing courses starting August 2019. This is a new position occasioned by the growth in the School and the Marketing Area. The initial appointment is for one academic year, subsequent renewals are based on performance, programmatic needs, and budgetary constraints. This is a full-time position with benefits. Rank assignment is contingent on level and type of experience and education. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position does not support work visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching various marketing courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs; and service to the Marketing Area, the School of Business, the University and the profession, such as student mentoring, committee membership, and interfacing with the business community. The standard teaching load for this position is 24 credits per year (typically 4:4) as determined by the school's workload policy.
Graduate degree (e.g., M.S.) in Marketing or a related discipline;
Academic and professional credentials to effectively teach undergraduate marketing courses; and
Good citizenship in terms of service is critical, as is the ability to work well with colleagues.
Ph.D. in Marketing or related discipline;
Credentials that enable the candidate to teach a wide variety of courses among both the core and elective marketing courses in the undergraduate marketing major; and ability to teach core and specialized marketing courses in the graduate programs.
Significant teaching experience and knowledge to work in the online space to create materials, support existing programs and teach stand-alone courses.
Marketing Area: The Marketing Area is a vibrant, ambitious and collegial community that highly values excellence in research, teaching, and service. We currently have seven tenure-track and three term faculty members in the area. Our Area conducts managerially relevant research using a variety of methodologies. The Marketing Area faculty have published in many of the premier journals including Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, Marketing Science, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Operations Management, and Academy of Management Journal, as well as many other top journals. Our faculty have many diverse teaching interests. The Area seeks to continue developing innovative courses in all aspects of marketing. The Marketing Area teaching faculty have won awards within the School, at the University and in outside organizations for excellence in teaching and contributions to teaching. Within the Area, the School and the University, there are opportunities to develop teaching skills and use new methodologies and approaches.
