Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment, Planning and Effectiveness, the University Director of Branding and Marketing (UDBM) ensures that branding and marketing designated resources from across the institution are optimized in order to improve brand awareness, increase enrollment, stimulate pride amongst faculty, staff and students, and increase alumni engagement. The UDBM is the clearinghouse for branding and marketing efforts across the University. Responsibility includes adhering to, assessing and enhancing the University's branding and marketing plans, coordinating efforts through vendors, and ensuring that economies of scale are appreciated so that resource allocation is optimized. The individual also contributes to promotional and branding and marketing materials on the University's website, and ensures they follow appropriate legal requirements as well as proper brand standards in messaging and design.
1.A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in English, communication, marketing, business, communications, writing, visual/performing arts or related areas. Master's degree is preferred.
2.Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience and professional knowledge concerning integrated branding and marketing, institutional positioning, advertising, promotion, communications, and social and digital media. Ability to effectively manage and communicate brands and messaging.
3.Demonstrated success in establishing and meeting goals, especially those related to increasing awareness, engagement and revenue.
4.Demonstrated ability to assess branding and marketing efforts.
5.Knowledge of and working experience with a variety of creative technologies utilized for branding and marketing purposes.
6.Excellent leadership and communication skills.
7.Exceptional attention to detail, strategic thinking and managing complex initiatives.
8.Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
