Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Marketing, and working closely with the staff of Columbia College Alumni Affairs and Development ("CCAAD"), the Assistant Director helps design and execute digital marketing communications in support of the Columbia College Fund.
Responsibilities Create and deploy email-marketing assets using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and HTML. Under the guidance of the Director and in partnership with team members, the Assistant Director helps with copywriting and graphic design work to support marketing, communications, adhering to the brand guidelines and marketing objectives, all driving toward increasing donor participation. Manage the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform, maintaining email templates, lists, files, and data in an efficient and active manner. Develop print or other digital assets including invitations, newsletters and solicitations, amongst others. Work with videographers to create videos for marketing campaigns. Participate in marketing strategy meetings with Annual Fund Programs (AFP) and collaborate with the Director to develop key marketing strategies. Collaborate with AFP to develop creative assets for email solicitations with the goal of increasing donor participation and engagement. In collaboration with the Director, create in-house email campaigns to educate donors and provide them with informative, targeted marketing materials. Manage the Columbia College Fund social media calendar and suggest strategy decisions to the Director. Manage the general maintenance of the CCAA and C2C websites and edit content periodically. Write solicitations, communication pieces, and other written material as required. Under the guidance of the Director, use data to inform marketing decisions and assist with testing and analysis. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree required or its equivalent. A minimum of two years of directly related experience. Experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and HTML. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of basic fundraising principles. Excellent writing, editing, research, customer service, and interpersonal skills required. Technical proficiency with spreadsheets, manipulating complex data using VLookups, and mail merges. Extreme attention to detail and an eye for accuracy required. Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to prioritize. Must possess a high level of professionalism, creativity and flexibility. Overall proficiency with computers and computer software (Word and Excel) is required, including an ability to learn new software. Must be self-directed and motivated, able to manage multiple and complex assignments and meet deadlines and production schedules both independently and as part of a team. Must be available to work some weekends and evenings. Ability to handle confidential matters and maintain confidentiality.
