Enrollment Management (EM) is a multi-unit department currently within the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor-Academic Affairs. The Unit is led by the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management (AVC EM), who serves as the Chief Enrollment Officer of the University. EM is comprised of multiple high-profile, core functional units including: the Office of Admissions, Office of the Registrar, Financial Aid & Scholarships Office, Enrollment Management Technology Services (EMTS), Cal-SOAP, Creative Services, Enrollment Analytics,Parent & Family Programs, and the Business Office. EM's core functions oversee undergraduate admissions and student outreach, continuing student enrollment management, and financial aid and scholarship management.
Creative Services supports EM units responsible for the recruitment, admission, and enrollment of undergraduate students. Creative Services produces email, social media, and direct mail campaigns; video and websites; brochures, and other promotional materials used to increase brand awareness and to recruit and enroll top students from California, the US, and around the world.
Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Media Coordinator organizes the design, production, and approval of visual presentations, publications and communications, including online marketing, created to promote brand identity throughout Californa, the nation and the world and to help drive global awareness of the UC San Diego undergraduate experience. Their work encompasses the coordinated production of targeted outreach efforts of all of the functional units of Enrollment Management in sync with campus brand, marketing, and communications initiatives.
The Marketing and Media Coordinator is a technical leader with a high degree of knowledge in the field overall and recognized expertise in specific areas. Their work is of considerable difficulty and requires consultative skills for leading projects with multiple clients. For these reasons, the Marketing and Media Coordinator functions as a work director within the department, providing substantive input and coordinating efforts into the work product of the other members of the Creative Service team, including a Web Marketing Analyst, Writer/Editor, Graphic Designer, Social Media Specialist, and Student Employees.
In this position, the Coordinator will be expected to independently write, design, create, coordinate, and supervise the production of special publications, books, printed materials, reports, posters, websites, and videos for admissions recruitment and yield efforts as well as curate projects for other units within EM. With multiple product development timelines and deadlines, the EM Marketing and Media Coordinator must be a highly experienced professional with the ability to multitask and provide expert problem-solving skills and analysis of unique issues or problems without precedent or structure on a regular basis.

Advanced knowledge of production processes for a variety of media and knowledge of vendor requirements for a variety of products. Skill in use of various desktop publishing, illustrating, and drafting computer programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, BBEdit, Acrobat Distiller. Maintain skills and knowledge of state-of-the-art publication software, video editing, and publishing tools.
Proven ability to schedule and monitor a multitude of project-related tasks, perform a number of different tasks simultaneously, and respond to inquiries rapidly without sacrificing attention to detail while maintaining accurate records and quality output, and meeting deadlines.
Knowledge of current developments in the graphic arts and electronic publishing field including technological trends and marketing approaches in successful and effective print, video, and Web site design and implementation.
Proficiency to evaluate the levels of ability and services of all vendors related to the in-print and electronic publication process: graphic artists, photographers, writers, typesetters, printers, computer programmers, and related technical support/new media
