The Athletics Department at University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, invites applications for a full-time Marketing and Fan Engagement Coordinator. The Marketing and Fan Engagement Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership for all marketing and promotions areas for the Athletics Department. This individual develops and implements an aggressive marketing, advertising, and promotion plan with a focus on increasing revenue, fan attendance, in-game and pre-game experiences. This position will be charged with increasing exposure through print and electronic media, advertising, web content, community partners, and assist with social media platforms. The Marketing and Fan Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for creating and executing a marketing plan for each sport that increases visibility, brand awareness and exposure for Cardinal Athletics. Position is responsible for creating game scripts, managing on-field/court game promotions, music and overseeing public address. S/he will supervise graduate assistants and student workers. Position will work with various levels of personnel within the external relations unit, frequently collaborating with the sponsorships team to ensure corporate sponsorship benefit fulfillment, assisting the ticket office with ticket sales promotions, and supporting Media Relations with social media accounts. The individual will represent UIW Athletics at exhibits and local events. Additionally, arranging for coaches and student-athletes to interact with the campus and community. This position will also coordinate and supervise the distribution of promotional materials. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements include: Bachelor’s Degree; experience in collegiate athletics marketing, professional sports marketing, or another externally focused position within college athletics; and a valid Texas driver’s license, or ability to obtain on within 60 days of employment. Position requires Proficiency in Microsoft Office; excellent oral, strong written communication and organizational skills; ability to identify and participate in resolution of departmental/institutional problems with continuous quality improvement as a goal; ability to enhance external relations team effectiveness through dependability; ability and willingness to follow the Mission of the University; and ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Position will require travel as necessary for events or functions. Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
