Duties & Essential Job Functions: | - Works collaboratively with faculty and staff to create, implement and update marketing materials and media in traditional and new media outlets for the TCU College of Education, Institutes & Centers, Laboratory Schools, and TRIO programs for the purpose of promoting academic programs, awards and achievements.
- Promotes College of Education events and programs by producing individual marketing, communication, and advertising pieces for programs such as the Green Honor Chair, Interview Days, and Excellence in Education Reception, Homecoming Weekend, Hooding Ceremony, Senior Reception, Research Festival, and Spelling Bee.
- Develops electronic publications by applying Adobe, InDesign, Photoshop, Word Press and other publishing software in collaboration with internal designers and freelancers.
- Manages social media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and email marketing tools.
- Serves as liaison between the Office of Communication and the College of Education by attending university-wide marketing and communication meetings and coordinating the writing, editing, and publishing of COE print materials such as program brochures, annual report, newsletter, view book, admission and recruitment materials, and holiday cards.
- Participates with the Office of Communication to establish brand consistency and internal/external marketing practices.
- Serves on Student Recruitment and Alumni Network Committees.
- Assists in promoting student, alumni, and prospective student events.
- Coordinates photo and video shoots and develop promotional items.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
| Required Education & Experience: | - Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, and/or journalism or related field.
- 3 plus years experience in public relations, marketing or related fields.
| Preferred Education & Experience: | - Skill in writing and editing to produce clear and concise standard documents for internal and external use.
- Experience working in a team environment to develop marketing and communication strategies and projects.
- Experience writing and editing print and electronic promotional and marketing materials.
| Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: | - Knowledge of basic web communication techniques, vehicles, and formats.
- Knowledge of applicable software packages
- Knowledge to demonstrate exceptional initiative and independence in all aspects of the position.
- Knowledge to demonstrate creative thinking and marketing innovations in communication.
- Skill in Adobe, InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft and WordPress.
- Skill in editing.
- Skill in both written and verbal communication with a solid foundation in grammar, spelling and composition of various communication vehicles.
- Ability to review and make recommendations to improve and streamline processes.
- Ability to apply organizational techniques.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in a team environment.
| Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations): | - Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
- Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
- Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
- Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
- Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.
