Location: Edina Full/Part Time: Full Time Job Description: The Director of Marketing and Recruitment: Online and Distance Programs at Minnesota State University, Mankato provides strategic leadership in the area of marketing and promoting online and distance programs, in alignment with the University’s high priority goals. The Director will work closely with Integrated Marketing to ensure alignment with University marketing and communication related policies, practices, brand and more. The Director will also collaborate with Admissions to ensure coordinated recruitment processes. The position reports to the Dean of University Extended Campus (UEC) and collaborates extensively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the university provides online programs and services that meet the needs of students and faculty. The Director will provide oversight for the day-to-day communication, marketing and promotion of Minnesota State University, Mankato's online and distance programs as well as other University Extended Campus outreach. The Director models and implements practices that support diversity, equity, and inclusion. Serving a central role for University Extended Campus communication, this position will facilitate – through website and online student support services – a quality, consistent Maverick experience for students, faculty, and staff in online and distance programs while increasing enrollment and student success. The position will provide marketing and community outreach efforts with the goal of better serving off-campus and online students, as well as helping establish University Extended Campus as the partner for adult learners and working professionals. Responsibilities includes performing continuous market needs analysis to focus outreach and marketing efforts as well establish UEC as the place for professional education, continuing education and workforce development. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree (conferred on an official transcript at the time of application) in marketing, web/inactive design, mass communications, educational development, or closely related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional, full-time experience in marketing, web content development, analysis of strategic web analytics, understanding of recruitment strategies, design and use of web infrastructure and management of social media.
Preferred Qualifications: - Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
- Master’s Degree.
- Experience in marketing, including website and social media within a higher education environment.
- Understanding of best practices in recruitment of online and adult students in higher education.
- Direct experience working with online and/or adult based programs.
- Knowledge and expertise to understand, interpret, and integrate data and data systems to expand the capacity of extended education to serve the market needs.
- Ability to effectively track information and to generate appropriate and timely reports.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and partner with a variety of constituents.
- Strong customer development and service experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of strategic planning and implementation of programs and/or service.
- Organizational skills that will allow for the handling of multiple projects at any given time.
