A job with Student Affairs Marketing provides students the opportunity to work in an agency-like atmosphere where creative problem-solving and collaboration with colleagues lead to the development of effective strategies to build awareness, engagement, and action from target audiences. All Student Affairs Marketing staff will contribute to the creation, implementation, and assessment of various marketing and communications initiatives. Job Summary Real marketing challenges deserve real marketing solutions. That's where you come in. The Graphic Designer creates a variety of digital and print designs for campaigns, signage, social media, brochures, posters, and more through research, concepting, collaboration, and finalizing files to the highest standards. The Graphic Designer reports to the Marketing Managers and works closely with various members of the Student Affairs Marketing team and professional staff/clients from around the Indiana Memorial Union, Student Health Center, Dean of Students Office, and many more departments within Student Affairs. Members of Student Affairs Marketing participate in various meetings, workshops, critiques, and brainstorming sessions as necessary. Essential Functions:
Note: The student in this role may be asked to continue working into the 2021-22 academic year. Required Qualifications Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (CC): InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Experience creating designs and layout of campaigns and advertisements. Understanding of effective design principles and typography. Fine attention to detail. Professionalism, dependability, and respect for others. Exceptional decision-making skills and autonomy. Exceptional writing and communication skills. Performs well in a team-oriented, collaborative atmosphere. Strong sense of curiosity and creativity. Motivated individual: strives for ongoing improvement and passionate about learning. Ability to receive constructive criticism in order to improve skillset. Preferred Qualifications Pursuit of a degree in Graphic Design or related field. Knowledge of additional Adobe Creative Cloud programs. Proficient photography skills. Understanding of effective marketing tactics. Other artistic talents, i.e., drawing, painting. Working Conditions / Demands Typical office environment.
